Formal meditation is not something I had had much experience of before attending Surya ji's classes during Lockdown; but one of his sessions made a lasting impression on me. At first, I did not feel comfortable with the way it was going; he was asking us to dispense with our individuality, to strip our spirit bare of all that was transitory or inessential to our ātma. At this session, I was invited to let that go and dwell in what remained. As I say, initially I was resistant, but thought I should at least try, since I was there in the class as a student. I did try to let go of my individuality; and this felt liberating and seemed to offer a new basis on which to live – one that I think has changed how I think I shall live the rest of my life. Surya ji's classes are varied and one can be asked to do quite different things from week to week, which I suspect is not true of most meditation classes.

I have attended Surya's meditation classes with Yog Foundation for a number of years. Surya has really helped me develop my knowledge and practice of meditation during this time. He is extremely knowledgeable in numerous meditation techniques and is patient - always willing to answer any questions we might have during the class. Through his classes, I have learnt how to calm my mind, and reach a state of peace and tranquility. His calm, composed and positive nature is a testament to the benefits of consistent meditation practice over decades. I would highly recommend him to anyone that wants to deepen their meditation practice.

This is a free class and open to everyone. He is an excellent teacher and very thorough with his knowledge on mindfulness and mental healing , uses new techniques everytime and resolves everyone's queries patiently at the end of the session.
